RUSSIA: 2010 sugar production from imported raws at 173,500 to March 9

Russia produced from Jan. 1 to March 9 173,500 metric tonnes of refined sugar from imported raws, 45% less than in the corresponding period last year, when 313,500 tonnes was produced, according to Dow Jones.
During the period Russian sugar refineries received 291,800 tonnes of imported raws, compared with 132,000 tonnes a year ago. They processed 180,300 tonnes of imported raws compared with 321,600 tonnes a year earlier.
Remaining stocks of imported raws at sugar refineries on March 9 totaled 148,600 tonnes compared with 296,000 tonnes on March 9, 2009.
