DJ MARKET TALK: ICE Sugar Sags In Consolidation;Dollar Pressures 1435 EDT [Dow Jones] - ICE sugar futures posted losses in consolidative trade as many commodities slipped under pressure from the firm dollar. May sugar settled 28 points lower, or 1.4%, at 19.39 cents a pound. Crude was weaker as sugar settled, in line with the lower CRB Index. The greenback rose as risk receded amid tense currency-related commentary between the U.S. and China. Analysts say sugar could consolidate in the near term, though May futures need a close above 20.20 to rule out a bearish chart trend. Liffe May white sugar settled up 30 cents, or 0.05%, at $541.20 a ton.
