DJ MARKET TALK: ICE Sugar Down Slightly; Consolidates 0912 EDT [Dow Jones] - ICE October sugar is slightly lower Friday morning as prices consolidate after reaching a new six-month peak Thursday. The fund buying that had taken the market to its highs is receding, allowing prices to edge lower. Sugar continues to find support, however, on concerns over further cuts to Brazil's cane crush if dry weather persists and continued congestion at the country's ports, slowing exports to the world market. Nearby October raw sugar is down 0.03 cent, or 0.14%, to 20.78 cents a pound.
