Banco do Brasil SA is likely to lend US$223 million to Israel's Merhav to help finance an ethanol plant in Colombia, according to Bloomberg.
The Israeli group will buy equipment from Uni-Systems, a Sao Paulo-based company, to build the plant, O Estado de S. Paulo newspaper said. The loan is the biggest private deal made by Proex, the Brazilian government's export finance program, Estado said.
