Datagro says up to 41 sugar and ethanol mills in Brazil, representing a total crushing capacity of 60 million metric tonnes of sugarcane, will not operate during the 2012/13 season, according to Agra-Net.

It said that this number represents around 9% of the South American country's total plant inventory of 440 units. Of the total number of mills not expected to operate, 36 are located in the centre/south region and five in the north/northeast.
