BRAZIL: UNICA sees 2011/12 sugar supplies tight

Brazil's sugarcane supplies will likely remain tight through next marketing year if dry weather in the country persists, according to Dow Jones.

If the rain won't happen by the end of this year, it may affect the cane crop," Marcos Sawaya Jank, president and chief executive of UNICA, told Dow Jones Newswires.

Jank also said Brazil is unlikely to add to its 330 sugar mills next year, affecting overall production.
