AUSTRALIA: Spring cane plantings looking good

Off the back of high sugar prices and improved water access, spring planting in parts of Queensland is tipped to exceed last year's efforts, according to the Australian Broadcasting Corp.
Rain has caused some delays, but Canegrowers vice-chairman Joe Russo is optimistic.
"We only have a relatively small window of opportunity to get it in by the end of September pretty well, so I believe everyone is full on and, weather permitting, we will see, I believe, a small increase on last year."
