COLOMBIA: January sugar exports at 60,943 tonnes

Colombian sugar exports in January reached 60,943 metric tonnes raw value, according to Dow Jones.
Releasing the first preliminary figures for the 2010 calendar and crop year, this is up 32% on exports of 46,142 tonnes in January 2009, ASOCANA said in a report.
Total Colombian sugar exports in the 2009 calendar year ended up 120% at 1,053,939 tonnes, compared with total shipments of 478,442 tonnes in 2008, ASOCANA said in the report, a copy of which was seen by Dow Jones Newswires.
