Russia produced 1.168 million metric tonnes of refined sugar from imported raws between Jan. 1 and June 29, compared with 1.331 million tonnes in the corresponding period last year, according to Dow Jones.

During the period, Russian sugar refineries received 807,000 tonnes of imported raws, compared with 1.202 million tonnes in the corresponding period last year.

The refineries processed 1.192 million tonnes of imported raws, compared with 1.363 million tonnes in the corresponding period last year.

The refineries processed more raws than they received because there are considerable amounts of imported raws left over from last year.

Remaining imported raws stocks held by the refineries on June 29 were 129,300 tonnes, including the raws left over from last year, compared with 133,000 tonnes on the same date last year.
