Tunisia has bought 14,000 tonnes of Algerian white sugar for delivery in May, according to Reuters.
The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, did not give further details such as the purchase price.
The north African country paid US$690 per tonne in a purchase of white sugar announced at the start of the month.
Cevital, Algeria's biggest sugar refiner, said last September that it was doubling its annual production capacity to 1.8 million tonnes. It imports most of its raw sugar from Brazil.
