DJ MARKET TALK: ICE Sugar Slides; Consoldiates Recent Volatility 1436 EDT [Dow Jones] - ICE world raw sugar settled lower as early short-covering gave way to an onset of fund liquidation. May sugar settled 39 points lower, or 2%, at 18.64 cents a pound. Analysts expect cotton prices to consolidate a loss from 28-year highs in the near term as fresh supply and demand factors work their way into the market. Brazil is gearing up for a new harvest and traders are watching for signs of end-user demand at relative lows. Liffe May white sugar settled down $4.50, or 0.8%, at $528.10 a ton.
