THAILAND: J-spec premiums hit record of 850 points

Premiums for Thai raw sugar for the Japanese market, or J-spec, hit another record at 850 points over New York futures, but there were no reports of deals, according to Reuters.
Premiums for Thai raws have skyrocketted because of tight supply blamed on drought earlier this year, which forced Thailand to buy back some sugar. There were no offers for high polarisation or Hi-pol Thai raw, which is more widely traded.
