Sugaronline India Report – India’s cane price populism continues unabated

The continued cane price populism and the government’s going slow on raising minimum support price and hiking export quota for sugar are major downside risks for the Indian sugar industry.

The Indian state of Punjab has decided to increase the state advised price (SAP) of sugarcane from INR360 a quintal to INR380 a quintal.
