FAS Pretoria revises MY 2025/26 sugarcane production downward due to quality issues caused by limited sun exposure during the rainy season.

Sugar production is revised slightly downward from the previous FAS Pretoria forecast; however, MY 2025/26 sugar production is still expected to rebound by six percent year-on-year. MY 2025/26 domestic consumption is revised upward, supported by stable prices. Sugar exports are also revised upward as surplus sugar is redirected to export markets due to rising imports,
