Colombia’s sugar production in marketing year (MY) 2026/2027 is forecast at 2.4 million metric tons raw value, supported by improved weather and expected gains in sucrose accumulation due to anticipated drier conditions from El Niño in the second half of 2026.
Domestic consumption is projected to increase marginally as health-related taxes and policies continue to constrain growth. Sugar exports are forecast to rise in line with production increases, with the United States remaining the primary destination.
