Sugar output in major ASEAN producers — particularly Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines — is likely to fall in 2026/27, tightening regional supply. Combined with India’s export ban and Brazil’s increasing allocation of sugarcane toward ethanol production, global sugar prices are likely to harden.
