Drought in Spain to Boost Grain Imports, 07/06/17

8th June 2017

All of USDA’s sugar reports in one place: a mix of monthly Sugar and Sweeteners Outlooks, import/export data and international GAIN reports. Using data collected by US Foreign Service officers working in more than 130 countries the USDA’S Global Agriculture Information Network (GAIN) reports provide timely information on the agricultural economy, products and issues in foreign countries that are likely to have an impact on United States agricultural production and trade.

Overall grain production is projected to be below historical average levels. The strong demand by the domestic livestock industry, along with limited pasture availability will contribute to increase the country’s grain import needs. Changes in the feed formula along with stock use may partially alleviate the grain shortfall.
