Costa Rica Sugar Annual 2015 – Sugar production, consumption and trade

All of USDA’s sugar reports in one place: a mix of monthly Sugar and Sweeteners Outlooks, import/export data and international GAIN reports. Using data collected by US Foreign Service officers working in more than 130 countries the USDA’S Global Agriculture Information Network (GAIN) reports provide timely information on the agricultural economy, products and issues in foreign countries that are likely to have an impact on United States agricultural production and trade.

<p>Costa Rica&rsquo;s sugar cane production is forecast to decline by 3.53 percent in 2014/2015. The decline comes after a record harvest during the previous crop year. Sugar production is expected to reach 464,000 MT in 2014/2015 as compared to 481,000 MT in 2013/2014. Production was negatively affected by drought during 2014 in the main production
