The NY raw sugar market closed the week on a recovery note this Friday, with the July 2026 contract advancing 13 points to US$ 14.06 c/lb, snapping a five-session losing streak.

Despite the positive weekly close, the contract still accumulated a loss of 64 points over the period, reflecting the heavy pressure felt throughout the week amid the persistence of bearish short-term fundamentals. The market remained under pressure from a comfortable global trade flow, the continued advance of production in key origins for the 25/26 crop
