USDA Sugar Reports

Feb 1 2008 | Thailand | Thai Government Agrees to Import 30,000 tons of Palm Oil

5th February 2008

All of USDA’s sugar reports in one place: a mix of monthly Sugar and Sweeteners Outlooks, import/export data and international GAIN reports. Using data collected by US Foreign Service officers working in more than 130 countries the USDA’S Global Agriculture Information Network (GAIN) reports provide timely information on the agricultural economy, products and issues in foreign countries that are likely to have an impact on United States agricultural production and trade.

The window for import, however, is limited to no later than February 29, 2008. Thailand's demand for palm oil is being driven by their B2 policy, which seeks to replace all diesel in Thailand with biodiesel by February 1.<br>
