The 2025/26 sugarcane production forecast has been revised downward following extensive flood damage across key growing zones, particularly in Punjab.

National cane output is now projected at 770 million tons, reflecting both a reduction in harvested areas and potential yield loss. Consequently, the cane sugar production forecast has also been reduced, with output now anticipated at 6.15 million tons.
