Sugar Annual Report, Ecuador – 22nd May 2020

By USDA

29th May 2020

All of USDA’s sugar reports in one place: a mix of monthly Sugar and Sweeteners Outlooks, import/export data and international GAIN reports. Using data collected by US Foreign Service officers working in more than 130 countries the USDA’S Global Agriculture Information Network (GAIN) reports provide timely information on the agricultural economy, products and issues in foreign countries that are likely to have an impact on United States agricultural production and trade.

Sugar production in marketing year (MY) 2019 decreased compared to MY 2018 levels. Domestic consumption is forecast to remain stable with small changes in the coming years due to shifting consumption patterns. As sugar supply and demand find an equilibrium, ethanol production appears to be helping to absorb some excess sugar supply.
