By USDA

21st April 2020

All of USDA’s sugar reports in one place: a mix of monthly Sugar and Sweeteners Outlooks, import/export data and international GAIN reports. Using data collected by US Foreign Service officers working in more than 130 countries the USDA’S Global Agriculture Information Network (GAIN) reports provide timely information on the agricultural economy, products and issues in foreign countries that are likely to have an impact on United States agricultural production and trade.

The Office of Agriculture Affairs (Post) forecasts refined sugar production in marketing year (MY) 2020/21 to increase by approximately 1.5 percent or 40,000 metric tons (MT) to reach 2.78 million metric tons (MMT.) Of this total forecast, 1.5 MMT of sugar will be derived from sugar beets, while 1.2 MMT will be sourced from sugarcane.
