Sugar Semi-Annual Report, Thailand – 01/10/2019

All of USDA’s sugar reports in one place: a mix of monthly Sugar and Sweeteners Outlooks, import/export data and international GAIN reports. Using data collected by US Foreign Service officers working in more than 130 countries the USDA’S Global Agriculture Information Network (GAIN) reports provide timely information on the agricultural economy, products and issues in foreign countries that are likely to have an impact on United States agricultural production and trade.

Sugarcane production in MY2019/20 is forecast to decline by 6 percent from MY2018/19’s level, which will reduce sugar production to 13.5 MMT. The sugar tax has curbed demand for sugar in non-alcoholic beverage production since MY2017/18.
