Low domestic sugar prices, pressured by a glut of imports and a drop in consumption, are hurting Chinese sugar producers.

There is no fresh news on the condition of either the beet or cane crop in China. Beet areas have been enduring higher than normal temperatures, whilst much of the areas under cane have received near record levels of rainfall. We maintain our view that total production will not exceed 10 million tonnes white sugar
