Sugaronline India Report – Will India relax its sugar export curbs?

Despite improving supply situations, New Delhi remains hesitant to relax its sugar export curbs, fearing domestic shortage of the sweetener and its adverse effect on food inflation.

As of Feb 29, India’s sugar production was 25.55 million tonnes and 466 sugar mills were still operating, according to a press release by the Indian Sugar Mills Association (ISMA).
