Maharashtra remains India’s leading sugar export hub, but recent floods in Maharashtra and Karnataka may lower production and prompt government caution in export scheduling. Moreover, correction in global sugar prices may cap India’s sugar exports.

The state of Maharashtra has long been the leading contributor to India’s sugar exports, accounting for 60-65% of the country’s total annual outbound shipments.
