Increasing implementation challenges to India’s ethanol push

State policies are getting in the way of national policy aimed at boosting ethanol production.

To incentivise its production, India’s federal government has reduced GST to 5% from 18% on ethanol and has come out with a soft loan package amounting to INR150 billion for adding ethanol capacities.
